The 15SY-130 is the most agile model in our seedling killing series. Specifically designed for intensive farming where space is at a premium, this 1.3-meter haulm topper bridges the gap between manual gardening and large-scale industrial farming.
It is engineered for growers who need a machine that can navigate narrow field entrances, work inside high-tunnel greenhouses, or manage irregularly shaped terraced plots. Despite its compact footprint, the 130 model delivers the same high-torque shredding power required to clear dense foliage in seconds.
This model is designed to be powered by small utility tractors or even heavy-duty walking tractors (with PTO conversion) ranging from 25 HP to 45 HP. This allows smallholders to professionalize their harvest without the need for expensive, high-horsepower machinery.
Thanks to its 1300mm narrow profile, the 15SY-130 is the preferred choice for intercropping systems where potatoes or root crops are grown between rows of fruit trees or other perennials. It is also an excellent medicinal material seedling killer, handling delicate herbs that require precise foliage removal before the extraction of the roots.
Weighing only approximately 380kg, the 15SY-130 exerts minimal pressure on the soil. This prevents soil compaction near the ridges, ensuring that the potato tubers remain in a loose, healthy environment right up until the moment of harvest.
The compact rotor design allows the blades to reach closer to the machine's outer edge. This is critical for clearing vines near fences, irrigation pipes, or greenhouse walls where larger machines simply cannot reach.
In organic root vegetable production, chemical desiccation is strictly prohibited. The 15SY-130 provides a non-chemical, mechanical alternative that fits into narrow organic planting beds. It allows organic growers to achieve the same "skin-set" quality as industrial farms while maintaining 100% compliance with organic standards.
Moisture Tip: For the cleanest cut, try to operate the 15SY-130 when the foliage is relatively dry. This allows the internal "vacuum" to lift the vines more effectively.
Residue Management: The 130 model leaves behind a very fine mulch. We recommend leaving this mulch on the field for 24-48 hours to act as a natural protective layer against sun-scald for any exposed tubers.
Maneuverability: If your headlands (turning areas) are less than 3 meters wide, the 130 model will save you significant time and effort.
Storage: Its compact size means it occupies minimal space in the tool shed during the off-season.
Transport: Easily transportable on small trailers or in the back of utility pickups for multi-site operations.
